StormAudio Products now support MPEG-H Audio

StormAudio and Fraunhofer announce the support of MPEG-H Audio in a broad range of immersive audio sound processor products

StormAudio, an innovative AV processor, receiver and amplifier manufacturer and Fraunhofer IIS, a global leader in audio research and development, have closely collaborated in an effort that led to the launch of MPEG-H Audio support in various StormAudio Immersive Sound Processor products. At CES 2025, Fraunhofer will showcase MPEG-H’s immersive and personalized audio capabilities at the Venetian Tower Exhibit Suites (34-204 & 34-209).

Following its adoption for the next generation broadcast systems of South Korea, Brazil and Japan, globally leading CE manufacturers are releasing more and more devices with MPEG-H Audio support.

“Achieving MPEG-H certification is a significant milestone for StormAudio.”, says Olivier Thumerel, CEO at StormAudio. “With the growing adoption of the MPEG-H Audio format in multiple countries and across Sony 360 Reality Audio streaming platforms, it became essential for us to integrate this technology into our products. This certification underlines our commitment to delivering the highest standards in immersive audio technology, ensuring our integrators and their clients experience unparalleled sound quality. For our current products, this integration will be made possible through a hardware upgrade. We are proud to collaborate with Fraunhofer IIS, whose innovation continues to shape the future of audio.”

Immediately, MPEG-H support will be available for the following StormAudio products:

  • ISP Elite, Immersive Sound Processor
  • ISP Core 16, Immersive Sound Processor
  • ISP Evo, Fully Digital Immersive Sound Processor
  • ISR Fusion, Immersive AV integrated amp processor

“We are thrilled to have partnered with StormAudio on enabling MPEG-H Audio in their ultra-high-end processors that truly immerse listeners into sound coming from all directions in the comfort of their own home.”, says Adrian Murtaza, Chief Business Development Manager at Fraunhofer IIS. “The unique personalization options of MPEG-H Audio will be demonstrated at CES 2025 together with service providers that have adopted MPEG-H Audio in their regular transmission of live sport events and concerts.”

At the Fraunhofer CES suite, visitors can experience MPEG-H Audio on TV sets from major brands. The devices have integrated user interfaces to customize the audio content and HDMI passthrough support that creates a compelling immersive sound experience on connected soundbars, sound processors and AVRs.

We are looking forward to many visitors in our suite 34-209 at The Venetian, so make sure you book your meeting through the Fraunhofer IIS website as soon as you can!
