xHE-AAC Powers High-Quality Media Sharing in RCS Universal Profile 4.0

Symphoria enables Virtual 3D Sound in the new Audi A1

Immersive sound is now also a reality in compact cars. Recently, the new Audi A1 was launched, and with it the world’s first 3D sound system that does not have loudspeakers above the dashboard. Producing the inimitable Audi surround sound in a small car is enabled by the intelligent Fraunhofer Symphoria algorithm using sophisticated acoustic reflections from the windscreen.

Successful Demonstration of Interactive Audio Streaming using MPEG-H Audio at Norwegian Broadcaster NRK

by Rupert Brun | Norwegian public broadcaster NRK and Fraunhofer IIS have successfully conducted the first end-to-end real-time streaming trial in the Nordic region of Next Generation Audio (NGA) with interactive features of MPEG-H Audio. Representatives from Norwegian broadcasters, technology companies and other invited experts had the opportunity to enjoy the 2018 Football World Cup matches from Russia using interactive audio, in the NRK premises in Oslo, Norway.
