With the “Efficient Language Model for On-Device Deployment” (ELMOD-2.7B), Fraunhofer IIS is releasing a compact large language model (LLM) optimized for German, specifically designed for use in resource-constrained environments. Now available on open-source platform Hugging Face, it addresses key challenges such as infrastructure cost, cloud dependency, and data privacy.
Brazilian Ministry of Communications introduces TV 3.0 with MPEG-H Audio in “TV do futuro” campaign
Fraunhofer IIS showcased the benefits of MPEG-H Audio as part of the innovative TV 3.0 standard during G20 Digital Economy Work Group meeting in São Luís, Maranhão on June 11, 2024. The audio system was also presented during a workshop on broadcast and streaming applications at Brazil's Ministry of Communications earlier that year.
