Visitors to Fraunhofer’s booth #20654 in South Hall 1 of the LVCC can experience immersive sound in a living-room environment from this single-enclosure device for the mid-price segment, which is running the Fraunhofer upHear Immersive Audio Virtualizer.
At the CES 2020 show in Las Vegas, Fraunhofer IIS and Tymphany, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of audio systems, headphones, acoustic modules and drivers, present a jointly developed reference design of a 3D soundbar targeting the mid-price segment. The soundbar consists of one single enclosure with the subwoofer integrated into the device. This special design is made possible by the Fraunhofer upHear Immersive Audio Virtualizer technology at its core.
The Fraunhofer upHear post-processing technology enables consumer devices such as soundbars and TVs to create a convincing immersive 3D audio experience from any input source – with no need for advanced loudspeaker setups. What’s more, Fraunhofer upHear facilitates 3D audio soundbar designs that do not require satellite surround speakers or a subwoofer.
Visitors to the Fraunhofer booth #20654 in South Hall 1 of the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) are invited to take a seat on the couch in the dedicated “living room.” Here, they can experience the new 3D soundbar reference design from Fraunhofer and Tymphany as it plays back both immersive sound with MPEG-H 3D Audio content as well as legacy stereo and surround content naturally processed through upHear’s integrated upmix technology.
